happy

a farmer's kiddies eating in 1940
a couple dancing, 1960
this post reminded me of an assembly the other day about happiness . it said that people in the 60s had less than us, materially and technologically, yet were something ridiculous like 30 fucking per cent happier omfg. i'm not even surprised but holy fuck is this how we're evolving? is this what technology and capitalism and society is doing to us? is this acceptable?!

i think this crisis is really linked to community spirit and a sense of togetherness.

they played this song in the assembly. i hadn't heard it in full before then but i really love it. i wish more songs and videos were like this. :-)

  1. you are so right. there's definitely a big problem. i wish my assemblies were as interesting as yours, seriously though, all we get to talk about is the school values and blah dee blaah blaah.

    1. i want to solve it somehow. it would be nice if the more positive aspects of dependence, for example emotionally, were promoted more. like you know there's that saying 'it takes a village to raise a child'? what happens when child grows up again? who will guide and support child so they can do the same when it is their turn to be part of the village that raises the next child? (i hope i'm making sense for you lotus).
lol most of our assemblies are boring and pointless as hell but every now and again we get gems. :-)
      xx
